How to live longer by eating the right foods

If you do not have the right sort of diet, your body does not get the right nutritional balance it needs to stay healthy as you grow older.Your body uses food that helps it make energy, making it run properly. Too much food will not help your body and not enough of the right foods can lead to health problems.
Which foods should you be eating:
Not all food is healthy for you. For example liver is packed with iron which is needed for your blood, but you should limit your intake. Fruits and vegetables are strongly recommended But be aware that again 5 portions as day is a good guide.Don’t over do the fruit because most fruit will turn into sugars and that’s detrimental to controlling your weight. Some foods can lead to an increase in cholesterol as you get older. You may be aware that excess cholesterol is the primary cause of heart attacks and strokes.
How will I know if am not eating right?
When you visit your doctor, he will advise you if you need to go on a diet. Your doctor will be able to tell what weight you should be by your height. As a result he may put you on a diet to lose a few pounds or if you are under weight a diet to help you gain weight. He will give you a diet plan which will tell you what sort of foods and how much to eat, as well as what to avoid. He may suggest you need to do some exercises to burn off any excess weight or calories.
Remember that you should always try to eat a balanced diet. Try to make sure that you only eat the amounts your doctor advises, and also get enough exercise that you need to stay healthy as you start aging. Speak to your doctor if you don’t know how to work out the amount of calories in food or what to eat he or she will be happy to help.
In almost every town and city you’ll find help. This is usually in the form of a support group.If you need help to find a group in your area ask at the local hospital or your doctor. These groups offer much needed support through the tough times and they will help you feel not alone and this will help you succeed.
Don’t try and do too much to quickly you’ll find you can always revise your plans in the future. Set targets you can expect to achieve with a bit of effort. Don’t make it easy but don’t aim to high either. It takes a lot of will power, grit and determination but you can do it if you really try.
